Locking/Unlocking Your Toyota: 

• Press the “LOCK” button on the key fob remote.
• Press the “LOCK” button a second time within one second.
• Press the “LOCK” button again, this time holding it for three seconds.
• The vehicle should start.

Starting the Engine

1. Check that the parking brake is set.
2. Check that the shift lever is set in “P”.
3. Firmly depress the brake pedal.
   -The smart key system indicator light (green) will turn on. If the indicator light doesn’t turn on, the engine can’t be started.
4. Press the engine switch.
   -The engine will crank until it starts or for up to 30 seconds.
   -Continue depressing the brake pedal until the engine is completely started.
   -The engine can be started from any engine switch mode.

Shutting Off the Engine

1. Stop the vehicle.
2. Shift the shift lever to “P”.
3. Set the parking brake.
4. Press the engine switch.
5. Release the brake pedal, and check that the smart key system indicator light (green) is off.
